Compare
Superboard vs. ChatGPT: a mission home beyond the thread
ChatGPT is a broad AI workspace for conversation, research, creation, memory, Projects, and tools. Superboard is a durable operating picture for an outcome. The distinction is structure around the mission—not a claim that ChatGPT lacks memory, organization, or action.

Choose ChatGPT for broad model capability, open-ended conversation, research, creation, Projects, Canvas, memory, and mature tool surfaces.
Choose Superboard when the ongoing outcome needs a visible map and each piece of work needs a durable Room beyond a thread.
Current Superboard is Board-first and much narrower in AI capability; guided entry and broader execution are Direction.
The shortest defensible comparison
| Dimension | ChatGPT | Superboard |
|---|---|---|
| Primary experience | Conversation, with Projects and Work organizing ongoing context | A Board map with focused Card Rooms; guided entry is Direction |
| Persistent context | Projects can group chats, files, instructions, tools, and project memory; account memory can personalize across chats | Current Board/Card state is canonical; a unified personal Memory Spine is Direction |
| Creation | Chat outputs plus Canvas for editable writing and code with prior-version restore, and broader Work deliverables | Documents, native Checklists, and Files stay in the Card's Stage |
| Action | Work, apps, cloud browser, and Scheduled Tasks support documented actions with availability varying by plan, platform, region, and rollout | Bounded Board/Card organization and configured mentions; no external workflow execution today |
| Mission visibility | Projects organize related work, but conversation remains a central surface | Lists and Cards expose the whole mission; Pulse and Activity stay attached |
| Best fit | A general-purpose AI workspace for conversation, creation, Projects, and tools | Owning a changing outcome across life or work |
What ChatGPT does especially well
ChatGPT is the stronger choice when the model itself is the main workspace. It supports open-ended reasoning, research, analysis, writing, coding, image work, and documented apps, Work, cloud browser, and Scheduled Tasks surfaces. Availability varies by plan, platform, region, and rollout.
Projects are real organization, not just folders: OpenAI documents chats, uploaded files, project instructions, tools, and project memory in one workspace, with shared Projects on eligible plans. Canvas provides a focused editable surface for writing and code and can restore a prior Canvas version. Account memory can use saved information and past context when enabled and can be reviewed or controlled.
The structural difference is the mission map
A powerful conversation can produce a plan, answer, or artifact without showing the changing operating picture around it. Even inside a Project, the person often navigates chats and files to reconstruct what is active, blocked, decided, or complete.
Superboard begins from that operating picture. The Board shows the mission. Lists make it scannable. A Card can represent a decision, appointment, prompt, customer, task, or artifact; opening it reveals the Room where Stage, Chat, Pulse, and Activity stay attached.
Direction
One Ava and guided entry are product direction
Superboard's direction is one Ava who can help a person begin through a guided choice, a named intent, or a messy dump, then preserve useful state without requiring Board administration. Board mode remains optional depth into the same durable system.
That complete Guide experience, unified personal Memory Spine across the person's work, proactive monitoring, and governed external execution are not live. Current Superboard should not be chosen as if it already matches ChatGPT's breadth of models, tools, memory, or agent surfaces.
Available today
Available today: work stays with the Card
Current Superboard is Board-first and solo-first. A Card Room can keep Documents, native Checklists, File references, sequential Chat, focused Pulse, and Activity history—kept with that one piece of work. Search is lexical, Ava's intelligence is mostly deterministic/local, and supported changes can offer Undo or restore through Removed Items.
That narrower product can be useful when continuity comes from explicit mission state rather than another conversation. It is not evidence that ChatGPT has no persistence; it is a different choice about which structure is primary.
When to choose one—or use both
There is no current direct ChatGPT integration documented in Superboard Help. ChatGPT and Superboard are separate products and are not affiliated.
- Choose ChatGPT when broad AI capability and a conversation or standalone deliverable are the main job.
- Choose a ChatGPT Project when chats, files, instructions, and project memory provide enough structure for the effort.
- Try Superboard when the work has many moving pieces and the map, artifacts, attention, decisions, and history need to stay visible together.
- Use both by exploring or creating in ChatGPT, then keeping the resulting commitment, artifact, source, and next decision on the relevant Superboard Card.
